ABOUT
The SOCIAL GOOD LAB is a hands-on, team-based experiential learning course for Mary Washington students.
DESIGN SPRINT MODULES
The Social Good Lab is structured around the “Design Sprint” framework as pioneered by Google Ventures. Student teams will participate in a design sprint to research, design and build a prototype solution to a client’s specific problem. The lab will culminate in student teams testing and receiving live feedback on their prototypes from customers. Design Sprints have been used by teams at Airbnb, Medium, Facebook, LEGO, the United Nations, the New York Times, and many more.
DESIGN EXPERIENCE NOT REQUIRED
With its team-based approach, project-specific focus, and design sprint mindset, the Social Good Lab gives students the opportunity to apply design thinking to a real world problem. Students interested in design thinking or those who want to see human-centered design in action should apply.
